Evan Wittenberg is EVP and chief people officer at Ancestry, the world leader in both genealogy and consumer genomics, with more than 1,500 employees worldwide. As a member of the executive leadership team, Wittenberg is responsible for finding, developing and retaining talent, and ensuring a positive company culture.
Before Ancestry, Wittenberg spent five years as SVP of People at Box, a cloud content management software company. As Box’s chief people officer he was responsible for scaling the company from $50 million to $500 million in revenue, and from 400 to 1,700 employees in 14 countries. He was a member of the executive leadership team that took the company public in 2015. Wittenberg’s roles before Box included chief talent officer at Hewlett-Packard, founding head of global leadership development at Google, and director of the Graduate Leadership Program at the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.
